What is Quran Memorization (Hifz)?

The Quran Memorization Course is structured Hifz: the student commits the Quran to memory and becomes a Hafiz (male) or Hafiza (female). Memorization follows a daily method — the student learns a new portion, recites it to the tutor for correction, and revises earlier portions so nothing is lost. The aim is Itqan, memorization so firm it stays accurate over years.

Hifz has been preserved this way for fourteen centuries, passed from teacher to student. The same method works online, with a tutor listening, correcting, and tracking every portion.

What You Need Before Starting

The Quran Memorization Course has 4 prerequisites:

Students who do not yet read fluently start with the learn Quran online and Tajweed course first.

How the Memorization Works

Each lesson has 3 parts, and the tutor checks all three:

This new-recent-old system is what separates memorizing from retaining. Without structured revision, earlier portions fade; with it, the whole Quran stays accessible.

The Memorization Roadmap

Students usually memorize in this order:

The tutor sets a daily target matched to the student’s age and memory, so progress is steady rather than rushed.

Who Is the Quran Memorization Course For?

The course suits 3 types of students:

The tutor sets a realistic plan after a short assessment, so the target fits the student’s life.

Can I Earn an Ijazah?

A student can earn an Ijazah after completing memorization with correct Tajweed. An Ijazah is a certification that grants permission to recite and teach the Quran through an unbroken chain of narration back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The tutor guides eligible students toward it once their recitation reaches the required standard.

How do the online Quran Memorization (Hifz) classes work?

Each class is a live, one-on-one video session with a certified Hafiz at a time you book. The student recites the new portion and revisions; the tutor corrects mistakes before they set. You choose a male or female teacher and keep the same tutor throughout, which matters here because the tutor tracks every memorized portion.

Sessions are private and scheduled, and parents are welcome to observe. Start with a free trial class, where the tutor assesses reading level and sets a memorization plan. See plans on the pricing page.

What is the Quran Memorization Course?

The Quran Memorization Course is a structured online Hifz program in which a student memorizes the Quran with a certified Hafiz, using a daily memorization plan and a revision system to retain what is learned.

What are the prerequisites to start?

A student needs to read Arabic fluently with basic Tajweed, a 15-line Mushaf, and a consistent schedule of 3 to 5 sessions a week. Students who cannot yet read start with reading and Tajweed first.

At what age can a child start memorizing the Quran?

A child can start from age 6, once they read the Quran fluently. The tutor sets small daily targets so young memorizers progress without strain.

How long does it take to memorize the Quran?

The time depends on the daily target, the student’s memory, and revision consistency. With a steady schedule, many students complete Hifz over a few years, while partial memorization takes far less.

How do I avoid forgetting what I memorize?

Structured revision prevents forgetting. Each lesson revises recent and older portions alongside the new one, so the whole Quran stays firm rather than fading after it is learned.

Are the teachers certified Huffaz?

Yes. Tutors are certified Huffaz who have memorized the Quran and are trained to manage memorization and revision.

Is the online Quran Memorization Course safe for my child?
